The time has come for the OCA Spring Fundraiser Event and Raffle! As
stated previously in the OCA meeting, this event will take place on May 21, 2010
at the Swiss Embassy, in Washington, DC. This event will provide us parents a break
from our hectic days with an evening in good company, with great food, and also
the opportunity to win prizes! This event helps the OCA raise funds
for the OCA Scholarship Fund, a
program which provides support to families that need the services that OCA
provides, but who are unable to afford such services. Because of previous
generous donations that we received, this year the OCA Scholarship Fund supports
23% of the students that participate in Oyster Creative Activities
(OCA). All of the proceeds collected in
this event will be directed towards the OCA Scholarship Fund. We request your
generosity in donating items or services for the raffle. Last year parents
donated over 30 items and services, such as cookbooks, facials, and gift
certificates, among others, from local businesses. If you are unable to donate
any items or services, please consider in helping us raise funds for this
activity. We can provide you with a template of a fundraising letter. You may
reach out to local businesses, whom are always happy to support local schools.
If you would like to donate any item
or service to the raffle, please contact Charlotte Valle, at charlotte_valle@verizon.net or
Lydia Borland, at lydiaborland@gmail.com.
Thank you for all of your
support!
